Toyota Camry: The Toyota Crown

From the Toyota Motor Company, the Toyota Camry is a midsize car that is currently being manufactured in various locations that include Georgetown, Kentucky in the United States, Australia, and Japan. As per the United States, the Toyota Camry has been the top selling car since 2001, and this area has been the vehicle's largest market. Its main competitors are the Honda Accord and the Nissan Altima.

This vehicle has become very popular in many locations as well like in Australia and quite a large number of markets in the continent and area of Asia. Its major competitors in this area include the Nissan Teana and the Honda Accord. In truth, if one would take a visit in Cambodia, Toyota Camrys are constantly found in the streets and roads of this country. However, there are some markets where this vehicle has not found much success like in Japan and in Europe as well.

The engine of this vehicle is transversely mounted so as to drive the front wheels of the car, although there are already some variations of this vehicle which is offered with an all wheel drive system. This kind of arrange of engines has been known as the FF layout.

Although the Toyota Camry was introduced in 1981, the name "Camry ? has already been used a year earlier with the Toyota Celica Camry. The name "Camry ? actually hails from the English phonetic of the Japanese word "kan-muri ? which when translated means "crown ?. However, the present Camry line of vehicle came with different configurations and has been made available in various body styles. It was offered as a hatchback with five doors, as a coupe that held two doors, and as a station wagon as well.

The present Toyota Camry now sports an upscale and elegant look compared to its previous versions. Also, it now sported a much longer stretch in its wheelbase by two inches and an additional 2.5 inches as added to its height. This kind of improvement has brought about a more spacious cabin for the vehicle. The power now comes with a V6 engine that comes with either four cylinders or six cylinders. This now holds 2.4 liters and cam produce some 157 units of horsepower as well as 162 pound feet of torque.
