Now whenever you're getting a woman's phone number, you should ALWAYS make sure to say something like this: "I will call you tomorrow at "X" o'clock. You are free to talk at that time, aren't you? And when you get my call, I want you start jumping up and down and say in an excited voice, "oh, it's you, Ken, the cute guy I met yesterday at the Book- Store." Okay, I bet you're wondering why you have to say all that. Let's look very closely at each part of that statement and you'll understand why it's so important. First, why do you tell the girl exactly what day and time you plan to call her? Have you ever got a girl's number and then spent hours debating with yourself WHEN you should call her? Well, if you have, then you'll know that it can be the most nerve-wracking, awkward experience for a guy. You start thinking to yourself, "If I call too soon, I'll look desperate and that's not good. On the other hand if I leave it too long, she might have forgotten me." And to make matters even worse, once you've finally decided to call her, she might not be available to take your call, and you probably won't want to leave a message, because again, that might make you appear desperate. So you see what a big problem this can become? By telling her exactly when you're planning to call, you solve that problem because she will be expecting your call at that time. So you won't have any issues with looking desperate. And secondly, even if she still ends up missing your call, at least she will feel that SHE let you down and will either call you back if you leave your number or she'll be waiting for you to call her back again. This puts you in a much better position and allows you to have CONTROL of the situation. Let us now check out the psychology behind the second part of our Phone technique: When you tell her that she should jump up and down, excited when you call, she'll probably just laugh because it's a funny thing to say but the point here is that you're making sure that she will remember you when you call. Don't forget that attractive girls usually give their phone number to more than one guy. So you might be one of 2 or 3 guys that she's given her number to that week. The more attractive she is, the more chance there'll be that you're not the only guy who's trying to date her. So anyway, now that you've made yourself unique by being funny, you're guaranteed to get a good reception from her when you call. Most "clueless" guys will probably call a girl and say something like this: "Hello it's me, "X". Don't you remember we met last week, about Thursday evening at that Starbucks place, you know the one near the train station." You can see just how pathetic and pitiful this sounds. But if you've followed our little "Phone technique" routine, she'll immediately remember who you are once you say, "Hello, okay you can start jumping up and down now!" And even if she doesn't shout in excitement and play your game with you on the phone, the good thing is that you can easily then say something funny like, "Hey, this isn't the fun girl I met at Starbucks last week. Now be honest, you've kidnapped her, please tell me where you've hidden her." She'll immediately remember how funny you are and she'll "re-connect" emotionally with you again on the phone like she did when you first met her. |
