Deposits of Faith

"Do you believe that I am able to do this?' They said to Him, `Yes, Lord.' Then He touched their eyes, saying, `According to your faith let it be to you'" (Matthew 9:28-29).

We have such a difficult time believing that God is able to do what He says He can and will do. If we can keep the faith that our disable is His-able and our disabilities His-abilities, then perhaps we will then know and accept without a doubt: "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. . ." (Ephesians 3:20).

God deals with us according to our faith, not our fancies or our faculties, our facilities or our failures. We praise and thank Him that all He asks is our confidence in Him. He doesn't care about our bank account, but He cares exceedingly how much faith we have deposited in Him. Part of our faith is our perseverance. Our importunity becomes God's opportunity. Jesus told His disciples: ". . .Because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. So I say to you, ask. . .seek. . .knock. . ." (Luke 11:8-9).

Faith is not so much an emotion as an act of the will. It is an intelligent cooperation with an unseen God: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). So faith is substance and evidence! "Honor the Lord with thy substance. . ." (Proverbs 3:9). Without knowing the mechanics of it, we know that when we turn on a light switch we will have light. This takes faith. So by faith we can know that the ethereal is real; that the Spirit is substance. The world wants corporeal evidence. God has given us something better, the Real!
