Digital Cameras at Wholesale Price?

Are you looking to get a good deal on digital cameras? Perhaps you've been to Ebay, and have seen the numerous offers for "wholesale contacts" to digital cameras suppliers. Well, I have some very bad news for you...

All those sources will not do you any good in getting a good deal on a digital camera. Because the truth of the matter is that retail is the same price as wholesale!

Yes, it's true!

Believe me, I've bought all those lists and contacted many authentic wholesalers. And the prices offered are maybe a few dollars less than what you'd find at an established online camera retailer!

Now it's true that if you go to Froogle, and type in a digital camera model, you will see a wide price range for the same model. And at the top end will be people who buy from these wholesalers and have of course mark it up. But you will also see many retailers selling at, or BELOW the price of a digital camera from a wholesaler.

How can this be'

Well, there are two things going on. One, there is a popular scam going on with more than a few digital camera retailers where they basically refuse to sell you a camera until you've bought many expensive accessories. Try it yourself!

Go to Froogle, type in a model of camera, go to that retailer which is selling at the lowest price, and try to buy it alone, with no accessories! You will find it can't be done.

The other thing going on (less common) is that basically you have to be willing to buy digital cameras in quantities of tens or hundreds before you get any substantial discount with a wholesaler. And this is not feasible for most ordinary people (or even small businesses, as the price of cameras is so high).

So I advise you, abandon all hope of getting a digital camera at wholesale price. And instead find a reputable merchant and deal with them.

Happy digital camera hunting!
